Vultures – Location Scouting (Video Blog)
There was quite a good response to my first attempt at video blogging, so I thought why not try another one!? Thanks to everyone who watched the first one, and especially to everyone who left comments or sent me messages and feedback. As I’ve said I can’t release any material from behind-the-scenes during shooting until episode 4 goes online, but hang in there, it won’t be long.
A couple of people have been asking questions, so I thought I’d continue with the pre-production side of things. Video blog number 2 offers a little insight into our location scouting, from finding the locations to getting permission to shoot there. Oh and drinking a hell of a lot of tea! Please bear in mind that I’m only learning to edit for the past few weeks, but it’s certainly a step up from the first attempt. Enjoy.

Yeah, we’ve actually found that most of the time when you just have an idea of a place in your head, you can tend to imagine it suits your purpose perfectly. Then when you get there, angles might be slightly different or things you didn’t realise were there, are there and in your way!?
It’s crazy, you think you know a place and then suddenly something new is there!?
So we’ve found the best thing to do is scout it, block the scene, work out angles and movements and it’s also handy to look for potential things that may go wrong, because more than likely it’s going to go against you. That’s all part of the fun really though!
“There’s money in tripods” – love it.
It’s gas seeing you scouting places you obviously already know really well. I guess you have to look at places in a different way to figure out what will and won’t work?
10 cups of tea??
My lord!
What happened to your arm, why was it in a sling???
Love the blogging tho, keep up the good work!x
FOOTNECK!? How the hell are you Dee?
Yes, at this stage tea is the only thing keeping us alive. We drink a sickening amount of it!
My arm… is a long story but the short version is: an idiot hit me with a door and it burst a vein causing a clot. It was fairly painful but you know me, I’m tough!
Great to hear from you and thanks for checking out my blog. Let me know what you’re up to!
