Vegetarian Kilkenny – ‘No Meat & Greet’
The first monthly Vegetarian Kilkenny ‘No Meat & Greet’ will take place on Saturday 24th January at 6.30pm in the Cartoon Saloon, the Maltings, James Street.
I can’t seem to find any kind of online activity for Vegetarian Kilkenny, a flyer for the event was passed along to me yesterday, but I have to admit I’m very excited about meeting more veggies from Kilkenny.
I’ve been a vegetarian for about 12 years now but I’ve never really had much contact with other vegetarians. I know lots of other veggies but I can’t say I’ve ever really been in a situation where the focus of the meeting was being a veggie or a vegan.
The flyer says; “Get to know other vegetarians/vegans in your area. Bring a favourite veggie dish to share if you can. Omnivores welcome but no meat please!”
Can anybody else point me towards some online presence for Vegetarian Kilkenny? Has anybody attended a meeting like this before? Is anybody interested in heading along to this one?

If there’s not one there, start it up, get an ole facebook group going? I’ll pass it on to herself.
That’s not a bad idea but seeing as I’m not part of organising it, I think I’ll at least wait until the 1st meeting.
If they’re interested I’ll gladly set stuff up for them or maintain it.

im a vegetarian for 4 and a half years now . reckon ill go to this , would be good to meet more vegetarians and vegans and people interested in animal rights

hi Ross, well its a year since we first met up for the first veggie meeting, we found a new venue it’s the Ossory Youth. Hopefully we’ll see you at the next veggie night on Jan 17th. It would be great if you are still interested in a press release. Also The vegetarian society mag are always looking for articles. Tomm and I wrote one for the Spring issue about the meet ups.
