Busker 2009 – Round 4 Voting Open

With the Cat Laughs comedy festival in full swing over the sunny bank holiday weekend, the streets of Kilkenny were well and truly alive.

I have to say a huge thanks to the legendary Darragh Doyle for passing me on free tickets to a comedy show on Friday night, I’m well behind on reading blogs but apparently he threw himself out of a plane over the weekend!? Told you he was a legend! Thanks for the tickets dude, I still owe you pints!

As of yesterday evening, voting is open for Round 4 of Busker 2009; the Kilkenny 400 busking competition in association with KilkennyMusic.com.

On Saturday afternoon, huge crowds moved between stand-up comedy shows all the while treated to a variety of live music on the streets, with seven contestants battling it out in the fourth round.

Round 4 saw the return of Pete to the Market Slip, DJ was back beside the Bank Of Ireland and Shane was outside the Kilkenny People offices in the early afternoon with Jacob taking over that spot later in the day.

They were joined by One Take Sessions regular Kieran Byrne outside Dunnes Stores, the huge-crowd-attracting trio ‘The Briars‘ outside St. Canices Credit Union, whilst passers-by were mesmerized by Annie playing a harp in the ButterSlip.

As usual one of the buskers will also walk away with €200 so don’t forget to cast your vote. The videos are now online and open to PUBLIC VOTING on Busker2009.com.
