Cheers Cathy, glad you enjoyed it! :)

I know the music doesn't suit it perfectly but it was the must fitting thing I could find that was royalty free. I didn't really spend too much time looking as this was only a test shoot and the plan for future stuff would be to score the music.

I actually like the bird sounds in there. I think it adds to it. It's weird, some people have told me they love the bird sounds too!?

I'll have a look at Darklight, but to be honest this was only a test (which thankfully was successful) but I wouldn't be happy enough with it to push it any further. Plenty of more thought-out ideas on the way.

To the best of my knowledge there's no courses in Kilkenny. I wouldn't mind doing some myself. I'll let you know if I come across anything though! ;)

Thanks for the feedback.

Hey Ross

The film looks great, I'm a sucker for forest things - I watched it first without sound on work pc, then with sound so perhaps that would be my main comment, that the music didn't quite seem edgy enough and the birds cutins were a bit too twee. i loved the richness of the colour - quite heavy which added to the mood

Great editing - I think it might be worth putting it in the shorts for this year's Darklight, they've extended the deadline.

I did a small tiny film last year for biodiversity week - not much action but caught a cuckoo calling on tape just when came to end of filming. I grabbed it and repeated it a couple of more times. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6PaMZTx0c4. Wish I had more time for this -are there any editing courses in KK?? I find it quite addictive

@James - Yeah, I went looking for a font and saw the Terminator one and couldn't resist, what with the whole chase sequence and execution, I thought it was quite fitting.
We originally planned to score the music for it but seeing as it was only a test there didn't seem to be much point. It would have taken too long. The jingle used is a bit repetitive but I thought it also added something funny.

@David - Yeah, the shot at 0:50 is one of my favourites too.
I had planned it to be cut quicker overall; with the visual delay effect I mentioned but when that didn't work out along with the day-for-night it just didn't look as good so I went with it as it is now.

Cheers for the feedback guys! =)

Ah this is the Jenkinstown thing...
Looks awesome. The gunshot and brains on the tree look great in HD!
I don't know what it is about it, I just really like the shot at 0:50
The only thing I could suggest is you could have stuck some quicker cuts and closer shots in at the beginning to really give it an intense kick to start off with?
That's just me, I'm sure plenty of people would disagree.
But yeah, kudos on the editing, turned out really nice!

Terminator font. Cheers Ross, that what I was going to use for CTF Kilkenny. :P

It turned out fantastic! Colours are really nice but maybe just a bit too green for my liking in some parts. The editing is nice and tight as well. Good job. The special effects also turned pretty good also. Muzzle flash is a bit lacking though. Needs a bit of spark!

The music, while repetitive, really pulled it all together and kept the pace nice and fast.
As you said, it was all done on first take basis so acknowledging that it's really good! I'd like to see what you'll pull off in future when you devote more time to it.
